It’s been one of those weekends where sitting on the sofa with a brew (or something stronger) felt like a full-time job. For the rest of us, it was a classic reminder that in knockout football, anything can happen. Southampton’s fans were bouncing, and frankly, who can blame them?
3. Split Decision Drama: Wilder Edges Out Chisora at the O2
Over in the boxing world, the O2 Arena was rocking on Saturday night for a heavyweight clash that lived up to the hype. Deontay Wilder and Derek Chisora went the distance in a brutal, back-and-forth encounter that eventually went to the judges' scorecards.
It was a split decision in favour of Wilder, but "War" Chisora certainly didn't go down without a fight. The atmosphere was electric, and while some might argue the decision could have gone either way, both men left everything in the ring. Switching codes to the Investec Champions Cup, Bath pulled off a massive 31-22 win over Saracens. This wasn't just a win; it was a statement.

To beat a side with the European pedigree of Saracens is no mean feat, and the Rec was absolutely buzzing. It’s a huge result for Bath as they look to progress deep into the tournament, and it sets up some mouth-watering fixtures in the rounds to come.
5. Sale Sharks Bite Back Against Harlequins
Finally, a bit closer to home for those of us in the North West. Sale Sharks put in a shift to beat Harlequins 26-17 in their Champions Cup clash.
The Sharks were clinical when it mattered, holding off a late Harlequins surge to secure the win. It’s always good to see the Northern powerhouse of rugby doing the business on the big stage.
